Shibo also passed the piece along to his followers. Called Hollow Cherry, it stacks trimmed copies of a Cherry card into a deep, framed scene.
The artist said the piece took serious thinking. Separate layers bring out its depth and every small detail, he wrote.
The piece grew out of a community request. A fellow member asked for a Cherry piece on Monday morning, and the artist agreed.
That request followed an earlier shadowbox built from an Icy card. The artist posted it early Monday and said its details and depth came out remarkably well.
How it works
A card shadowbox uses several copies of the same card. Each copy is trimmed so parts of the art sit at different heights for a 3D look.
In the artist’s video, the stacked cards form a neat block in his hand. Small spacers keep the layers apart so the art seems to rise out of the frame.
The artist closed by asking which card to take on next. Members replied with ideas and encouragement.
Replies praised the detailing of the piece. Others called it creative, amazing and a lot of work.
Why it matters
Members are turning their cards into display art. That gives the cards a life beyond the game table.
Shibo’s response put the artwork before a wider audience. It also backed a member making something by hand.
Fan art keeps the community creative and connected. Each piece gives members something to share.
Background
Cherry is a Bow class Creature card. Its play effect summons a low-cost Creature from the deck.
The official rules say Bow cards center on play-effect chains and movement. Cherry fits by bringing another Creature onto the board.
Icy is a Neutral Creature whose passive text keeps the Hero immune. Neutral cards fit into any deck.
Shibo is co-founder of Doginal Dogs. Cherry and Icy both come from Doginal Dogs Legends, the community’s card game.
The game opens with the Rise of the Pack set. Its cards are hand-drawn, inspired by the community’s dog art.
The game is played with physical cards across a table. Its site, ddltcg.com, hosts the rules and a card gallery.
Collectors also keep the cards for their art. Shadowboxes show that side of the hobby in a hands-on way.
The artist later hinted that another shadowbox was underway. Members kept suggesting cards for him to try.
The community gathers next at DD Miami, Dec. 7-9, 2026. Shibo’s pinned post on X praises the community’s love and loyalty.
